MANCHESTER’S "#LordOfTheStrings" AZIZ IBRAHIM ANNOUNCES
EPIC OCT/NOV 2026 FULL BAND UK TOUR CELEBRATING
MASTERPIECE 'LAHORE TO LONGSIGHT' ON DOUBLE VINYL (Also
available online)
MANCHESTER, UK — Legendary virtuoso guitarist, composer, and cultural pioneer
Aziz Ibrahim (Dr. Arts) has officially announced a highly anticipated UK tour for
October and November 2026. The landmark tour celebrates the definitive, first-time
double-vinyl release of his seminal album, Lahore To Longsight.
Affectionately dubbed the "#LordOfTheStrings," Ibrahim has carved an indelible
legacy into the bedrock of British rock history. Famously stepping into "the hardest
job in the world" as John Squire’s replacement in The Stone Roses, Ibrahim’s
staggering three-decade career also includes global stadium tours as lead guitarist
for Simply Red, and a massive run of chart-topping, co-writing successes with Ian
Brown (including the iconic tracks "My Star" and "Corpses in Their Mouths").
The upcoming 2026 tour promises an immersive live experience that honors his
roots as a kid from a Longsight council estate who went on to reshape British guitar
music. Lahore To Longsight remains a masterclass in cross-cultural storytelling,
charting his family’s grueling journey through the Partition of India and Pakistan,
eventually leading to the rainy streets of Manchester.
Audiences can expect a spellbinding showcase of Ibrahim's signature "DesiGuitR"
and "Asian Blues" sounds. The performances will fuse heavy, driving Punjabi raga
rhythms with raw, hard-edged alternative Western rock—a unique sonic landscape
he famously forged alongside Tabla maestro Dalbir Singh Rattan in the Asian Blues
Collective.
Beyond his legendary collaborations with Paul Weller, Steven Wilson, and members
of The Smiths, Ibrahim’s current creative era proves he remains as genre-defying as
ever. Alongside preparing for this major retrospective vinyl tour, 2026 sees Ibrahim
actively pushing boundaries on all fronts—releasing fresh solo tracks under his
instrumental project 'The Key Of 3', tracking an EP for Brazilian icon Nasi, and
performing in avant-garde outfits ranging from the Japanese Trap group
'Yo-Kai-Wai' to the post-punk garage band 'Tuareg'.
"This tour and the double-vinyl release are about bringing the journey full circle,"
says Ibrahim. "It’s about identity, evolution, and the raw power of the guitar to bridge
