Aleighcia Scottis making waves-and not quietly. Cardiff-born with Jamaican roots, she is the language-blending, soul-soaked voice behind a bold new era of reggae. Tipped byThe Guardianas a breakout Welsh artist and spotlighted in theBBC's Ones to Watch, Aleighcia's name has become synonymous with a unique cultural bridge between Welsh and Jamaican identities.

Her discography is defined by historic milestones. Her debut album,Windrush Baby(2023), produced byRoryStoneLove, hit#1 on the iTunes Reggae Album Chart, earned aWelsh Music Prizenomination, and was under consideration for aGrammy. She made history with "Dod o'r Galon", the first Welsh-language reggae track to reach number one.

In 2026, Aleighcia continues this momentum with the release of"Hei Mistar Urdd!", a vibrant reimagining of the iconic Welsh anthem for its 50th anniversary that has become an instant favourite with children across the nation. This success will be followed by the highly anticipated single"Neud e i Ti", due in May 2026, which serves as the first single from her debut full-length Welsh-language album.

Aleighcia's stage presence is truly international. Following a 2025 special guest slot onLila Iké'sUK tour and opening for icons likeJulian MarleyandSoul II Soul, she recently opened theStuttgart Festival of Cultures 2025. Her live credits span the world's most prestigious stages, fromGlastonburyandBoomtowntoSXSWandJamaica's Dub Club.

Beyond the stage, she is a cornerstone of UK broadcasting. In 2026, Aleighciareturnedas the reigning champion coach for season two ofY Llais (The Voice, Wales)on S4C, following her debut series victory with artist Rose Datta. She remains a prominent voice on the airwaves, hosting her weeklyBBC Radio Walesshow and frequently deputising for the legendaryDavid RodiganonBBC 1Xtra.

A passionate cultural ambassador, Aleighcia's impact was formally recognised in May 2026 when she washonoured by Gorsedd Cymru. She will be inducted into theGreen Robesat the National Eisteddfod, one of the nation's highest cultural accolades, celebrating her distinguished contribution to the arts and her work in bridging Welsh and Jamaican heritage.
