To Kill a Mockingbird is Aaron Sorkin’s award-winning stage adaptation of Harper Lee’s novel, returning to the West End for a strictly limited season this summer. The production has previously been a Broadway and West End sensation, and is currently on a national tour across the UK and Ireland.
Set in 1934 Alabama, the story follows lawyer Atticus Finch as he encourages kindness and empathy in his children, then finds those values tested when he tries to uncover the truth in a town determined to hide it. The novel was inspired by Harper Lee’s own childhood, has sold more than 45 million copies worldwide, won the Pulitzer Prize for Literature and was long placed at the top of the banned book lists.
