

Hamilton is the story of Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and helped shape the foundations of America. The show uses a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway, presenting “the story of America then, as told by America now”.
It has book, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler and musical supervision and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire. The production is based on Ron Chernow’s biography of Alexander Hamilton.
Key facts: Running time 2 hours 45 minutes, including a 15-minute interval. The performance on Wednesday 29 April 2026 will be a Relaxed Performance and will start at 6.30pm.
This production contains some strong language and is appropriate for ages 10+. Everyone, regardless of age, must have their own ticket to enter the theatre. Children under 16 must be accompanied by, and seated next to, a ticketholder aged 18 or over. Children under 3 will not be admitted.
Latecomers may not be admitted until a suitable break, but admittance cannot be guaranteed. For the Relaxed Performance on Wednesday 29 April 2026, adjustments will be made to sound and lighting, and normal rules of theatregoing, such as being quiet and sitting still, do not apply.
