Oh, Mary! at Trafalgar Theatre, London, is a dark comedy by Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton. It follows the miserable, suffocated Mary Todd Lincoln in the weeks leading up to Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, with unrequited yearning, alcoholism and suppressed desires at the centre of this 80-minute one-act play.
The production was declared “one of the best comedies in years” by The New York Times and received Tony Awards for Best Leading Actor in a Play (Cole Escola) and Best Direction of a Play (Sam Pinkleton). This is the London transfer of the show.
