Trainspotting - the musical at Haymarket, London, is a new stage version written by Irvine Welsh, with music and lyrics by Stephen McGuinness and Irvine Welsh, and directed and developed by Caroline Jay Ranger. Set thirty years on from the film, it brings back Renton, Sick Boy, Begbie, Spud, Tommy and Kelly, alongside an ensemble cast and a live band.
The show features some of the tracks from the film, together with original songs, and presents the story of the outsiders and rebels of youth culture in a contemporary musical form. It is staged on the West End stage.
