About The Standard of Living

The Standard of Living at the Theatre Royal Haymarket is a brand new world-premiere play from Olivier Award-winning playwright James Graham, directed by multi award-winner Nicholas Hytner. It tells the story of rebel economist and Bloomsbury Group member John Maynard Keynes as he moves between the corridors of power in Whitehall and a radical circle of artists, writers and lovers.

As markets crash and old systems begin to crumble, the play follows Keynes through a period of political and personal upheaval. His relationships with Lydia Lopokova, Duncan Grant and Virginia Woolf are part of a portrait that asks what a good life looks like.

Alive with music, dance, desire and debate, the production stars Rory Kinnear and Natalia Osipova, with Osipova making her West End debut.

Cast changes: Natalia Osipova will not be appearing at the evening performances on Friday 16 October, Wednesday 21 October and Wednesday 4 November, or at the matinee and evening performances on Thursday 22 October and Thursday 5 November.

Access information: Access is managed via Theatre Royal Haymarket Digital Access Pass. If you have a Nimbus/Access card and the +1 is not for a mobility issue, you can select any price excluding Premiums and pay full price for one ticket, with the +1 ticket free, processed as two tickets at half price. If you are disabled due to mobility, or are deaf or visually impaired, stalls seats are offered at £25, excluding Premiums. Four seats are held in centre Stalls D for visual or hearing issues, with another four pairs on the aisles for mobility issues, plus two wheelchair spaces.
