Sting's The Last Ship is a musical inspired by Sting's childhood in the North East of England. Set in the shipbuilding town of Wallsend, it follows a close-knit community facing the closure of the local shipyard and the uncertainty that comes with it.
The story centres on the bonds, traditions and livelihoods that hold a community together as its future is threatened. It features a new book by Barney Norris and songs including Island of Souls, All This Time and When We Dance, alongside the original score.
The production includes a large cast of more than 50 performers, with Sting returning to the stage as Jackie White. Sting is a 17-time Grammy Award winner.
