About DEEP-HEAT RIVALRY
DEEP-HEAT RIVALRY at The Other Palace is a parody set in the high-stakes world of professional ice hockey. It follows Shane Hollandaise and Ilya Stroganoff, two star players whose fierce rivalry on the ice hides a secret they are both struggling to face: they are in love.
Written and directed by Oliver-nominated Trevor Ashley, the show mixes locker-room drama, forbidden romance, parody songs and comedy. It is described as a filthy new parody with power ballads, party-pop numbers and no understanding of sport whatsoever.
The production leans into outrageous humour, with emotional scenes, innuendo and full-frontal nudity, while keeping the focus on the clash between rivalry and romance.
