The Gruffalo at Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1D 7ES is Tall Stories’ musical adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s classic picture book. Following Mouse on a journey through the deep dark wood, the show brings together Fox, Owl and Snake in a story of hazelnuts, danger and a very surprising Gruffalo.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the production returns by popular demand with songs, laughs and mischievous fun for children aged 3 and up and their grown-ups. Tall Stories describe it as imaginative storytelling theatre, where everything is possible.

The show has received four- and five-star notices from The Sunday Times, The Scotsman and Whats on Stage, including praise as a charming tale told with refreshing simplicity and timeless storytelling.

Running time: 60 minutes. Suitable for ages 3+.

Before you book

Children aged 14 and below must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, and they must sit in seats next to each other. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.

There is a relaxed performance with a Touch Tour on Tuesday 4 August at 2pm. Wednesday 22 July at 10:30am is also listed as a relaxed performance.
