The Gruffalo at Nimax Theatres is Tall Stories’ musical adaptation of the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Returning by popular demand and celebrating its 25th anniversary, the show follows Mouse on a journey through the deep dark wood, where encounters with Fox, Old Owl and Snake lead to the ever-present question of whether the Gruffalo really exists.
Written for children aged 3 and up and their grown-ups, the production combines songs, humour and storytelling. It is a compact theatre visit, with the action presented in a 60-minute running time.
The show is designed as imaginative family theatre, with a familiar story told in a clear, stage-led way that is easy to follow for younger audiences.
Key facts: 60-minute running time. Suitable for children aged 3+. Tuesday 4 August at 2pm is a Relaxed Performance with a Touch Tour; Wednesday 22 July at 10:30am is also a relaxed performance.
