Love's Labours Lost 26 is a summer production of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, staged as a flamenco-inspired reimagining. The story follows four women arriving in Navarre on a diplomatic mission, where the King and his lords find their vows tested by love, desire and wit.
This production marks Associate Artist Indiana Lown-Collins’ Globe Theatre directing debut. A former Globe Resident Artist and JMK Award winner for The Solid Life of Sugar Water at the Orange Tree Theatre, she brings the warmth and vibrancy of her rural Spanish roots to a comedy that is described as rarely staged and human in scale, with rhythm, revelry, longing, grief and melancholy woven through it.
For audiences looking for Shakespeare with a distinctive visual and musical flavour, this production offers a clear take on the play’s central tensions: devotion, temptation and the difficulty of leaving love unresolved.
