Love's Labours Lost 26 is a flamenco-inspired production of Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, presented this Summer. Set in Navarre, it follows four women on a diplomatic mission as the King and his lords find their vows tested by love, desire and wit.
Associate Artist Indiana Lown-Collins directs in her Globe Theatre directing debut. A former Globe Resident Artist and JMK Award winner for The Solid Life of Sugar Water at the Orange Tree Theatre, she draws on the warmth and vibrancy of her rural Spanish roots for this production.
Rarely staged, the comedy brings together rhythm, passion, longing and melancholy, with the story leaving love unresolved.
Key facts: This is a Shakespeare comedy set in Navarre, with a flamenco-inspired approach and a strong focus on the tension between duty, desire and wit.
