Love's Labours Lost 26 is a flamenco-inspired new production of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. Set in Navarre, it follows four women on a diplomatic mission as the King and his lords find their vows tested by love, desire and wit.
In her Globe Theatre directing debut, Associate Artist Indiana Lown-Collins brings the production to the stage. She is a former Globe Resident Artist and a JMK Award winner for The Solid Life of Sugar Water at the Orange Tree Theatre.
This summer's production draws on Lown-Collins's rural Spanish roots and sets the comedy against a world of rhythm, fiery romantic tension, joy, revelry, longing, grief and melancholy. Rarely staged, Love's Labour's Lost is presented here as a raw, human comedy about connection and unresolved love.
Key facts: This is a Shakespeare comedy, staged in a flamenco-inspired production, with Indiana Lown-Collins making her Globe Theatre directing debut.
