About Stranger Things: The First Shadow

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a stage production set in Hawkins in 1959, before the world turned upside down. It follows young Jim Hopper, Bob Newby and Joyce Maldonado, then brings in new student Henry Creel, whose arrival makes it clear that a fresh start is not as simple as it seems.

Brought to life by a multi-award-winning creative team, the show uses theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to return audiences to the beginning of the Stranger Things story. It is a new adventure rooted in the same world, with a focus on how the past reaches into the present.

Running time: Approx. 3 hours including an interval.

Before you book

Age guidance: Recommended for ages 12+. Under 5s are not permitted. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

The production contains gunfire audio, loud noises, explosions, haze, smoke, flashing lights and strobe, strong language, and depictions of mental health conditions and disorders.

Arrival and late entry: The venue opens 90 minutes before the start time. Please arrive by 30 minutes before the start time. Latecomers will be admitted at a suitable point, which may be the interval.

Tickets and refunds: No exchanges or refunds after purchase.

Accessible performances: Selected performances include BSL interpreted, audio described and captioned performances on 20 September 2026, 27 September 2026, 4 October 2026 and 6 December 2026, all at 15:00.
