How the Other Half Loves is Alan Ayckbourn’s domestic farce about three couples, two homes and a growing web of misunderstanding. When Fiona Foster and Bob Phillips are accused by their spouses of having an affair, they use the innocent Featherstones as an alibi, and the lies soon begin to spread.
As the three couples’ lives become increasingly entangled, the play explores sex, class and marital confusion through one of theatre’s best-known comedies. It is a classic Ayckbourn piece that helped establish him as one of Britain’s leading modern playwrights.
Directed by Phillip Breen, this production returns the play to the in-the-round staging it was written for.
