How the Other Half Loves is Alan Ayckbourn’s domestic farce about three couples and two homes. It follows a chain of domestic misunderstanding that turns everyday life into escalating confusion.
When Fiona Foster and Bob Phillips are each accused of having an affair by their spouses, they use the innocent Featherstones as an alibi. As the three couples’ lives become more entangled, the lies deepen and the situation unravels into chaos.
The play takes in sex, class and marital misunderstanding, and helped cement Alan Ayckbourn as one of Britain’s greatest modern playwrights. This production is directed by Phillip Breen and returns the play to the In The Round staging it was written for.
