About

About Into The Woods

Into The Woods at 85-88 St Martin's Lane, London brings Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical to the West End this September. Following a critically acclaimed run at The Bridge Theatre, this new production is directed by Jordan Fein, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt.

The show draws together familiar fairy-tale figures: The Baker and his wife, a Witch with a curse, a boy and his cow, a girl in a red cloak, a maiden with long flowing hair, and a servant covered in cinders. As their journeys into the woods intertwine, the story follows wishes, losses and new friendships, with a focus on what lies beyond ‘Happily ever after’.

Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Into The Woods has been described as a “stunning” production by The Times and “a triumphant musical mash-up of fairytales” by The Standard.
