About The Children
The Children at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is Lucy Kirkwood’s darkly funny drama, set after a catastrophe in which Hazel and Robin are living on the edge of a radiation exclusion zone. Hazel keeps up her yoga, Robin makes parsnip wine, and the pair try to preserve some sense of normal life.
That fragile routine changes when their old friend Rose arrives with buried memories, old secrets and a proposition that tests loyalties and brings their debt to the next generation into focus. This 10th anniversary production is directed by Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan.
It stars Olivier Award-nominated Meera Syal as Hazel.
