An Ideal Husband at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is Oscar Wilde’s comedy about reputation, scandal and the pressures of London Society. Sir Robert Chiltern has the house, the clothes and the wife, and appears to have the perfect modern life.
That balance is threatened by the arrival of Mrs Cheveley, whose secrets put his good name at risk. Wilde’s writing turns the situation into a sharp look at ambition, betrayal and public image, in a production directed by the Lyric’s Associate Director, Nicholai La Barrie.
The show runs from 7 May to 6 June 2026.
