About The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera follows a shadowy figure living beneath the Paris Opera House, where his love for Christine Daaé drives the story. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, along with the scenery and special effects, brings this tragic love story to the stage.

First opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on Thursday 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, the musical has since become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time. It has won 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Key facts: Running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval. Performances are Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, with Saturday performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. All guests aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own in the auditorium. Everyone entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

Your confirmation email will include your e-ticket; please print it and bring it with you on the day. You are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance starts, and you may also need to present valid ID. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.

Please note that stalls row N-S will have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
