The Phantom of the Opera at the theatre at 57 Haymarket, London, tells the story of the Phantom, who lives in shadow beneath the Paris Opera House, and the love he holds for Christine Daaé. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, along with the scenery and special effects, brings the story to the stage.

First opening on Thursday 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, the musical has gone on to become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time. It has won 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Key facts: Running time is 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval. Performances are Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, and on Saturday at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under the age of 4 will not be admitted. All persons aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own within the auditorium. Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket.

You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket. Please print it and bring it on the day, and you are recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before the performance start time. You may also need to present valid ID.

No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase. Please note that Stalls rows N to S will have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang. Single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
