About The Phantom of the Opera

The Phantom of the Opera at 57 Haymarket, London, is Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical about the Phantom, Christine Daaé and the world beneath the Paris Opera House. The story follows the Phantom’s hidden existence and his love for Christine, with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s score, scenery and special effects bringing the production to the stage.

First opened at His Majesty’s Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the lead roles, the musical has since become one of the highest-grossing musicals of all time. It has won 70 major theatre awards and has been seen by over 140 million people worldwide.

Running time: 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one interval. Performances are Monday to Friday at 7.30pm, with Saturday performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Before you book

Children under 4 will not be admitted. Anyone aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult and may not sit on their own in the auditorium. Every person entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket. You will receive a confirmation email with your e-ticket; please print it and bring it on the day. Arrival at least 30 minutes before the performance start time is recommended, and you may also need to present valid ID. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase. Please note that Stalls Row N to S have the top of the staging obscured by the Royal Circle overhang, and single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
