Allegra at Panton St, West End, London SW1Y 4DN is a new comedy with music by Peter Quilter, the Olivier and Tony Award nominated writer of End of the Rainbow and Glorious!. Dame Maureen Lipman stars in the title role, with direction and choreography by Stephen Mear.
Allegra sings wherever she goes, at home, in the street and even in local shops and cafés. Sometimes the orchestra exists only in her imagination; sometimes it becomes part of the real world, bringing humour and disruption to the people around her.
The story follows Allegra, her brother Ronen and her carer Anna as they try to support her without diminishing what makes her who she is. The production includes Singin' in the Rain, Ain’t No Sunshine, Dream A Little Dream Of Me and Happy Days Are Here Again.
Key facts: This is Dame Maureen Lipman's first UK tour for 20 years.
