Allegra is a brand new heart-warming comedy with music, written by Olivier and Tony Award nominated playwright Peter Quilter and starring Dame Maureen Lipman in the title role. It tells the story of Allegra, whose love of life and singing means music can burst out at home, in the street, and even in shops and cafés.
Her brother Ronen and her carer Anna do their best to keep life steady, while the story explores how to care for someone you love without dimming what makes them who they are. The show features musical numbers including Singin’ in the Rain, Ain’t No Sunshine, Dream A Little Dream Of Me and Happy Days Are Here Again.
Key facts: Dame Maureen Lipman is in her first UK tour for 20 years. Allegra is directed and choreographed by three-time Olivier Award winner Stephen Mear.
