Allegra is a new heart-warming comedy with music by Peter Quilter, the Olivier and Tony Award nominated writer behind End of the Rainbow and Glorious! Dame Maureen Lipman stars in the title role, with the show directed and choreographed by three-time Olivier Award winner Stephen Mear.
Allegra loves singing, and she bursts into song at home, in the street and even in local shops and cafés. At times the orchestra is only in her imagination; at others it moves into the real world, affecting everyone around her. Her brother Ronen and her carer Anna do their best to keep life steady while protecting her sense of self.
The production includes musical numbers such as Singin' in the Rain, Ain't No Sunshine, Dream A Little Dream Of Me and Happy Days Are Here Again. Dame Maureen Lipman, known for Coronation Street, appears in her first UK tour for 20 years.
