Abigail's Party at the Harold Pinter Theatre is Mike Leigh's black comedy set in suburban Essex in 1977.
The evening centres on Beverly, who is hosting drinks while neighbours Angela and Tony come round, with Sue from next door also invited. As the alcohol flows and the music plays, the conversation turns awkward, then increasingly strained.
Mike Leigh's play is a sharp portrait of social class, materialism and sexual tension in 1970s England.
