Abigail's Party is at The Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End. Tamzin Outhwaite stars as Beverly in Mike Leigh’s black comedy of suburban life in 1970s Essex, where a drinks party quickly starts to unravel.
Set in Essex in 1977, the play follows Beverly and her husband Laurence as they host their new neighbours Angela and Tony, with Sue from next door also invited. With Demis Roussos on the record player and the drinks flowing, the evening moves from awkward small talk to flirtation, marital tension and social unease.
