About

About My Neighbour Totoro

My Neighbour Totoro at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, London, is the stage adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s 1988 animated feature film. Created in collaboration with Improbable and Nippon TV, it is adapted by Tom Morton-Smith and presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company with Executive Producer Joe Hisaishi.

The production follows one extraordinary summer in the lives of sisters Satsuki and Mei, exploring childhood, imagination and a world of fantasy. Winner of six Olivier Awards, it is now playing in London’s West End.

Running time: 2 hours 40 minutes, including a 20-minute interval.

Before you book

Age recommendation is 6+. The production is not suitable for children under 6 years old, including babes in arms. Children under 4 years old, including babes in arms, will not be admitted into the auditorium. Children need to occupy their own seat throughout the performance, and all persons entering the theatre, regardless of age, must have a valid ticket. It is the customer’s responsibility to check the suitability of the performance for any children in their party, regardless of the age recommendation.

All guests aged 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, who must be seated with the child and accompany them throughout their visit. Younger guests and babes in arms are welcome at relaxed performances. The show features puppets, including some large-scale puppets that interact in audience space, live music and sound effects that can be loud at times and possibly scary for some younger children, and themes of an ill parent in hospital.

Please note that single seats cannot be left in a row when booking.
