

Oliver! is playing at the Gielgud Theatre in London. Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s musical has been fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne, and it opened in London following a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre.
This production brings Dickens’ story of the boy who asked for more to the stage with the show’s well-known score, including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me. It is described as an Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning masterpiece.
Produced and revised by Cameron Mackintosh, the show is directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne, with co-direction by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy. Design is by Lez Brotherston, with lighting by Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs, sound by Adam Fisher, video by George Reeve, original orchestrations by William David Brohn adapted by Stephen Metcalfe, and music supervision by Graham Hurman.

The cast includes Simon Lipkin as Fagin, Shanay Holmes as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell as Bill Sikes, Billy Jenkins as the Artful Dodger and Philip Franks as Mr Brownlow. Matt Lucas will play Fagin from 22 September to 1 November 2026.
