Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre is Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s musical, reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. It opened in London on Saturday 14 December 2024 after a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre.

Based on Dickens’ story of the boy who asked for more, the show features the well-known score including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me. It is described as an Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning musical.

The production is directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne, with co-direction by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy. Design is by Lez Brotherston, lighting design by Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs, sound design by Adam Fisher, video design by George Reeve, original orchestrations by William David Brohn adapted by Stephen Metcalfe, and music supervision by Graham Hurman.
