Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre is Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s musical, fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. It opened in London after a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre.

The show follows Dickens’ story of the boy who asked for more, with the score including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me. It is the Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning musical, directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne and co-directed by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy.

The production has been described by The Telegraph as “an undeniable triumph” and by the Mail on Sunday as “a whopping great hit”.

Key facts: Following a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre, Oliver! opened at the Gielgud Theatre on Saturday 14 December 2024. It is recommended for ages 7+.
