About Oliver!

Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre in London is Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Lionel Bart’s musical, fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. It follows a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre and brings Dickens’ story of the boy who asked for more to the stage.

The production features songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me. It is an Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning musical, with review quotes in the source including The Telegraph’s “an undeniable triumph” and the Mail on Sunday’s “a whopping great hit… tunes, glorious tunes!”

Produced and revised by Cameron Mackintosh, the show is directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne, co-directed by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy, with design by Lez Brotherston, lighting by Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs, sound by Adam Fisher, video design by George Reeve, original orchestrations by William David Brohn adapted by Stephen Metcalfe, and music supervision by Graham Hurman.

Current cast includes Simon Lipkin as Fagin, Shanay Holmes as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell as Bill Sikes, Billy Jenkins as the Artful Dodger and Philip Franks as Mr Brownlow. Matt Lucas will play Fagin from 22 September to 1 November 2026.
