

Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre is Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s musical, fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. It follows a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre and opened in London on Saturday 14 December 2024.
Based on Dickens’ story of the boy who asked for more, the show features the well-known songs Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me. It is an Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning musical.
Produced and revised by Cameron Mackintosh, the production is directed and choreographed by Matthew Bourne, with co-direction by Jean-Pierre van der Spuy. Design is by Lez Brotherston, lighting design by Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs, sound design by Adam Fisher, video design by George Reeve, original orchestrations by William David Brohn adapted by Stephen Metcalfe, and music supervision by Graham Hurman.

The cast includes Simon Lipkin as Fagin, Shanay Holmes as Nancy, Aaron Sidwell as Bill Sikes, Billy Jenkins as the Artful Dodger and Philip Franks as Mr Brownlow. Matt Lucas will play Fagin from 22 September to 1 November 2026.
