Oliver! at the Gielgud Theatre is Cameron Mackintosh’s new production of Lionel Bart’s musical, fully reconceived with director and choreographer Matthew Bourne. It opened in London on Saturday 14 December 2024, following a sold-out season at Chichester Festival Theatre.

The production brings Dickens’ story of the boy who asked for more to the stage with the score that includes Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah and As Long As He Needs Me. It is described as the Olivier, Tony and Oscar-winning masterpiece, and has been revised by Cameron Mackintosh.

Design credits include Lez Brotherston, Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs for lighting, Adam Fisher for sound, George Reeve for video, William David Brohn’s original orchestrations adapted by Stephen Metcalfe, and music supervision by Graham Hurman. It is a Cameron Mackintosh & Chichester Festival Theatre production.
