Carroll Thompson burst onto the scene shortly after, releasing her million-selling, self-penned 1980 debut album Hopelessly in Love—later recognized by Mojo Magazine as the greatest Lovers Rock album of all time—which yielded enduring classics like "I'm So Sorry".
