Arcadia at Duke of York's Theatre is Sir Tom Stoppard’s play transferring to the West End following its critically acclaimed run at The Old Vic. Directed by Carrie Cracknell, it is a new production that brings together science, romance, curiosity and the search for meaning across two time periods.

Set in a country house two centuries apart, the play follows teenage prodigy Thomasina Coverly in 1809 as she explores mathematics and the forces that shape the natural world, while in the present day Hannah Jarvis investigates a chapter in Lord Byron’s life. As past and present overlap, the story asks whether life can ever be fully understood, or whether it remains shaped by disorder as much as pattern.

The Duke of York's Theatre is being newly renovated into the round especially for this production. The run opens on 20 June and is strictly limited to 12 weeks.

Key facts: Strictly limited 12-week run from 20 June; suitable for ages 14+; BSL performance on Saturday 15 August at 7pm; captioned performance on 6 August in the evening.
