Arcadia at Duke of York's Theatre, London, is Sir Tom Stoppard's play in a new production by Carrie Cracknell, transferring to the West End after a critically acclaimed run at The Old Vic.
Set in a country house across two centuries, the play follows teenage prodigy Thomasina Coverly in 1809 as she explores mathematics, nature and the forces that shape the universe and the human heart. In the present day, author Hannah Jarvis investigates a chapter in the life of Lord Byron, and the play traces how questions about science, romance, curiosity and lost knowledge echo across time.
The production opens at the Duke of York's Theatre, which is being newly renovated into the round especially for this show, from 20 June for a strictly limited 12-week run.
