Arcadia at the Duke of York's Theatre is Sir Tom Stoppard's play in a West End transfer from The Old Vic, directed by Carrie Cracknell. Set in a country house across two time periods, it follows teenage prodigy Thomasina Coverly in 1809 and, in the present day, author Hannah Jarvis as their stories unfold around mathematics, nature, history and the tension between order and disorder.
The play explores curiosity, lost knowledge and discovery through Stoppard's mix of science, romance and wit. This production opens at the Duke of York's Theatre, which has been newly renovated into the round especially for this run.
Key facts: The production opens from 20 June and has a strictly limited 12-week run.
