Arcadia at the Duke of York's Theatre in London is Sir Tom Stoppard's play returning to the West End after its critically acclaimed run at The Old Vic. Directed by Carrie Cracknell, this production opens on 20 June for a strictly limited 12-week run, and the theatre has been newly renovated into the round especially for the show.

Set in a country house across two centuries, the story moves between 1809 and the present day. Teenage prodigy Thomasina Coverly explores mathematics, nature and the forces that shape the universe and the human heart, while author Hannah Jarvis investigates a mysterious chapter in the life of Lord Byron.

As past and present intertwine, the play follows questions about knowledge, order and disorder, and how much of life can ever be understood. Its blend of science, history and romance is central to the production.

Key facts: Suitable for ages 14+; BSL performance on Saturday 15 August at 7pm; evening captioned performance on 6 August; opens on 20 June for a strictly limited 12-week run.
