Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s The Seven Deadly Sins follows Anna on a seven-year journey through the cities of America as she tries to earn the money for a house back home, with music steeped in Weimar cabaret and 1930s American jazz.
Francis Poulenc and Jean Cocteau’s The Human Voice is a one-woman opera unfolding through a single, unbroken phone call as Elle waits for her former lover to ring. The two works are performed together as a continuous psychological portrait of a woman pushed to her limits. 10 performances only.
