About Dark of the Moon
Dark of the Moon at The Arches, London is a supernatural musical about witchcraft, prejudice and love. It brings together a small-town Appalachian setting and the mystical world of witches and warlocks from the Smoky Mountains, with the story centred on Barbara Allen, a human girl, and John, a curious witch-boy.
The show’s score reflects those two worlds with a blend of country/bluegrass and rock. As the pair try to build a life together, the story asks whether love can overcome the deal made by the dark of the moon.
