About The Oresteia

The Oresteia at the Bridge Theatre, London, is Simon Stone’s contemporary production inspired by a Greek myth. Stone is an acclaimed Australian theatre and film director known for radical reworkings of classic works, including Yerma and Phaedra.

The production follows a contemporary family that wakes up in a Greek myth and cannot seem to find a way out of its hellish destiny. It continues Stone’s connection with the Bridge Theatre after The Lady from the Sea, which starred Alicia Vikander and Andrew Lincoln last year.
