About The Oresteia

The Oresteia at Bridge Theatre, 3 Potters Fields Park, London SE1 2SG, is a contemporary production by Simon Stone. Stone, the Australian theatre and film director known for radical reworkings of classic works including Yerma and Phaedra, returns to the Bridge after staging The Lady from the Sea starring Alicia Vikander and Andrew Lincoln last year.

The show follows a contemporary family that wakes up in a Greek myth and cannot seem to find a way out of its hellish destiny. It brings a modern perspective to a classical story, with the Bridge Theatre continuing to be Stone’s London home.
