About The Oresteia
The Oresteia at the Bridge Theatre is directed by Simon Stone, the Australian theatre and film director known for radical reworkings of classic works including Yerma and Phaedra. He returns to the Bridge Theatre after staging The Lady from the Sea last year, starring Alicia Vikander and Andrew Lincoln.
In this production, a contemporary family wakes up in a Greek myth and cannot seem to find a way out of its hellish destiny. The result is a modern take on the Oresteia story that places a family crisis inside a mythic world.
