About Ivanov

Ivanov follows Nikolai, a man who has forgotten how to be happy, or perhaps was never sure he was. He has a successful career, a marriage that should feel settled, and a life that ought to be secure, but he is also dealing with mounting debts and his wife’s recent unexplained illnesses.

The story tracks his attempt to hold on to his marriage, his career and his will to live as everything begins to feel as though it is falling apart. A party at the Lebedevs’ becomes the backdrop for a crisis that Simon Stone brings into the contemporary world through Chekhov’s comic drama.

This production comes from the same creative team that brought The Lady from the Sea to life.
