About Ivanov
Ivanov is Simon Stone’s contemporary staging of Chekhov’s comic drama. It centres on Nikolai, who seems to have everything in place on paper: a successful career, a perfect wife and a life that should feel settled. But debts are mounting, his wife has been dealing with unexplained illnesses, and he is left questioning why he feels so unhappy.
As the pressure builds, the story follows Nikolai to a party at the Lebedevs’ and asks whether he can steady his marriage, his work and his sense of self at the same time. The production is brought into the present day by Simon Stone, working with the same creative team that brought The Lady from the Sea to life.
Key facts: No one under the age of 5 is permitted in the auditorium, and the production is advised for ages 12+. Latecomers may be admitted during a suitable break in the performance. No exchanges or refunds are available after purchase.
