About Ivanov
Ivanov centres on Nikolai, who seems to have everything in place: a successful career, a marriage to the “perfect” woman and a life that should be settled. Instead, he is struggling with debt, his wife’s unexplained illness and a growing sense that he has lost his happiness.
Simon Stone brings Chekhov’s comic drama into the contemporary world. The action builds towards a party at the Lebedevs’, where Nikolai has to face what is happening to his marriage, his work and his will to keep going.
The production is by the same creative team that brought The Lady from the Sea to life.
