About Death Note The Musical

Death Note The Musical at the Barbican brings the manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata to London in collaboration with original producers HoriPro. It is based on the story that has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.

In the show, brilliant student Light Yagami finds a notebook with the power over life and death. His attempt to reshape the world leads to a battle of wits with the elusive detective L, where every name carries consequences.

The musical features a score by Tony, Grammy and Emmy nominee Frank Wildhorn, with lyrics by Jack Murphy and a book by Ivan Menchell. The title line captures the central idea simply: write a name, change the world.

Running time: Approximately 2h 20mins, including a 20-minute interval. Age guidance: 12+; no under 5s will be admitted.
