My Son’s A Queer (But What Can You Do?) is Rob Madge’s autobiographical show, told by the West End Musical Theatre star and social-media sensation themselves. It centres on a childhood attempt to stage a full Disney parade at home for Rob’s Grandma, with Rob performing as characters including Mary Poppins, Ariel, Mickey Mouse and Belle.
The show follows the parade’s chaotic progress, with Rob’s Dad taking on the roles of Stage Manager, Sound Technician and Goofy, while the costumes and cues go awry. Grandma, meanwhile, still has a nice time. Rob then sets out to recreate that parade, and this time aims to do it properly.
